Welcome.We are truly delighted that you have chosen to begin the New Year together with Jewish Center Prague 2, known for its unique and special atmosphere — a place where everyone feels at home, welcomed and appreciated, quickly connects with our wonderful guests, and experiences a real sense of belonging, joy, unity, and, of course, meaning.This year, Rosh Hashanah begins on Friday evening, and therefore the shofar is not sounded on Shabbat. We will hear the shofar only on the second day of the holiday, Sunday. Hearing the shofar is one of the central mitzvot of the day, and we will therefore also hold an additional shofar blowing for anyone who was unable to hear it during the morning service.In such a year, it is also customary to postpone Tashlich until the second day of Rosh Hashanah. We will therefore hold a public Tashlich together with an additional shofar blowing at the magical spot right next to Jewish Center Prague 2 — by the waterfall and the pond with goldfish in the park across from the Center. A truly fairytale Tashlich.All holiday prayers will take place in the synagogue of Jewish Center Prague 2, completely free of charge, including reserved seating. Those who wish are also welcome to join us for the festive holiday meals, with payment only to cover costs, at an affordable price. The food is strictly kosher, Mehadrin, with all the traditional dishes and symbolic foods of Rosh Hashanah.

1. 10:00 – Shacharit for the first day of Rosh Hashanah
2. 11:15 – Torah reading for the first day of Rosh Hashanah
3. 12:00 – Musaf – the shofar is not sounded on Shabbat; it must be heard the following day
4. 13:30 – Festive holiday lunch for those who registered in advance
5. In a regular year, Tashlich would be held today – this year, because of Shabbat, it is postponed until the following day
6. 19:00 – Mincha with Torah reading, as on a regular Shabbat afternoon
7. 19:45 – Rosh Hashanah evening service
   (Women may light holiday candles after Shabbat ends, from 19:53)
8. 20:15 – Second festive holiday dinner for those who registered in advance
